Managing and amalgamating electoral data across the 33 distinct electoral authorities that make up Greater London – the 32 boroughs and the City of London – has always been a complex task. However, the Collabor8 project has transformed this challenge into a streamlined and efficient process.

The technical team at Democracy Counts developed an advanced solution that centralises the management of electoral registers, particularly addressing the challenges of amalgamating data from varied authority sources. This system ensures that registration data from all corners of the capital is integrated seamlessly, making the entire electoral process smoother, more transparent, and more effectively combined.

As part of this innovation, Democracy Counts also upgraded their ElectorCountResults solution, ensuring it can support the consolidated results display for this vast region. This upgrade is a game-changer for elections across London, allowing for faster, more accurate, and more accessible election results.

But the impact of Collabor8 doesn’t stop there. This expertise is now being applied to tackle the challenges of cross-boundary electoral management, an issue that caused local authorities significant complexities in the recent general election.

This success story marks a new era for electoral management in London, setting the stage for enhanced efficiency in other regions facing similar hurdles. Michael Coleman from Democracy Counts is keen to engage with clients and non-clients alike to share insights and collaborate on addressing these challenges, which have become highly significant in the wake of the recent election.

If you’re interested in learning more or exploring how Democracy Counts can help you streamline your electoral processes further and stay up-to-date with cross-boundary solutions, please get in touch with Michael at michaelcoleman@democracycounts.co.uk.

Greater London’s electoral future just got a lot brighter!
